Having completed my orthodontic specialist training in London, I am fortunate and pleased to announce I have been accepted to enter a further 2 years of training in Birmingham Dental Hospital to become a recognised Consultant in Orthodontics.
I always believe in providing patients the highest standard of care and treatment, and this training pathway will ensure I am delivering the highest quality of orthodontics currently available. This is a full time position and work between Birmingham and Warwick hospital.
The patients I will typically be treating have complex underlying jaw problems, which have an effect on their overall bites. Therefore, braces alone will not be enough to comprehensively manage these patients, and instead, a combination of braces and jaw surgery is required. I enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary team and constantly challenging myself to break the glass ceiling. This 2 year intensive programme will further challenge me to ensure I obtain the highest qualifications possible in the United Kingdom in the field of orthodontics.
I shall be involved in various teaching roles as well for the trainee orthodontists and dental students in the hospital, and as previously mentioned in an earlier blog, I always admire those who can stand up on stage and discuss their strengths BUT also the mistakes they’ve made…and how others can learn from them. I hope I can be a valuable member of the team in Birmingham!
Along with my consultancy training in Birmingham, I will be complementing this by maintaining my private practice in Wolverhampton. I offer private orthodontics with a wider range of brace treatments to choose from. This includes fixed braces, Invisalign and lingual orthodontics – all which help patients achieve their desired goals of getting straight teeth!
